2015 National Fire Prevention Week
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) says that fires that start in the bedroom account for one-quarter of home fire deaths.
It is National Fire Prevention Week and this years theme is, "Hear The Beep Where You Sleep. Every Bedroom Needs a Working Smoke Alarm!," according to the NFPA website. Fire prevention week is focused on home fires and stresses education to prevent these fires and help people get away from them safely if they do start.
The leading causes of home fires according to the NFPA are cooking, heating, smoking materials, electrical issues and candles.
