Robert "Scott" Ostrem, 45, of Saratoga passed away Sept. 23, 2015. He was born Oct. 17, 1969 in Rawlins to parents Patricia K. (Craig) and Howard C. Ostrem, Jr. A Memorial Service was held on Monday, Sept. 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Valley Chapel at the Saratoga Cemetery. Teense Willford officiated. Honorary Pallbearers were Nick Lufkin, Chad Powell, Chris Powell and John Craig, II.
Scott had worked as an Outfitting Guide and in ranching and restaurants. He had also worked for Valley Oil. He was known as a jack-of-all-trades; master-of-one – "Fishing".
He was a fisherman extraordinaire and an avid hunter. He is remembered as his family's hero, idolized by his late younger brother and witty and snarky by his friends and family.
Survivors include his mother, Patricia Ostrem; grandmother, Melcine Craig; aunts, Patrice (Gary) Schnering and Carolyn Ostrem; uncle, John Craig, II; his best friend and companion, Phyllis Higgins; and many other family members and friends too numerous to mention.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howdy Ostrem; brother, Monte Ostrem; paternal grandmother, Mary Ostrem; aunts, Jodeen Ostrem and Pauleen Herring; and maternal grandfather, John Craig.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Scott Ostrem's memory to Central WY Hospice & Transitions, 319 S. Wilson St. Casper, WY 82601 or to Masterson Place, 2325 E. Yellowstone Hwy. Casper, WY 82609.
