Galen Payton, age 55, died Sept. 21, 2015 in Ann Arbor, Mich. as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Galen was born Aug. 15, 1960 in Omaha, Neb.
Galen was a gentle soul who loved life, the outdoors, mountains, riding his motorcycle and spending time with family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory includes his wife Patricia, his son Zeth (Amanda) Payton, stepson Thomas Eagle, all of Superior, Neb.; daughter, Jamie Selmi of Nevada; parents Lila Payton of Encampment, Wyo.; Harold (Sharon Hiett), of York, Neb. Siblings include brother, Tony (Linda) Hiett, of Bradshaw, Neb.; sisters Jane Boykin, of Encampment, Wyo.; Kim (Kevin) Stephens, Deb (Mike) Hinz, Chris (Kevin) Cobb, all of York; Cyndi (Jim) Blundell of Benedict, Neb.
Grandchildren: Haylee, Shelby, Morgan and Easton Payton all of Superior.
Nieces and Nephews include: Payton, Emma, Lila, Harold, Gale, Nina and Harrison Jackson; Matt, Josh and Sarah Stephens; Lindsay Heiden, Steven and Taylor Hinz, Tim Blundell, Shanon Koranda, Ashley, Logan, Brianna, and Tory Cobb, Hannah and Anthony (TJ) Hiett.
Brothers-in-law, Butch Dunn and Jimmy Dunn and sisters-in-law, Zetta Powell and Wendy Granado. Aunts Jan Thompson and Ethel Payton.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Carla, son Galen Curtis, father Gale Payton, sister-in-law Lynn Waterson, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Services were held Sept. 25 at Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Neb., with Pastor Dorothy Smith preciding.
Graveside services and burial were held Sept. 28 at Mountain View Cemetery, east of Encampment, Wyo.
