Wood nominated for State Businessperson of the year

Elizabeth Wood, Publisher of the Saratoga Sun, was awarded 2015 Businessperson of the Year by the Carbon County Board of Realtors.

Wood worked at CENTURY 21 Cornerstone Realty beginning in 1999. She moved on to be a journalist/columnist and ad salesperson at the Saratoga Sun, eventually becoming the General Manager in 2008 and Publisher in 2015.

Outside of business ventures, Wood is currently the president of the Saratoga Historical and Cultural Association (Saratoga Museum) and Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post #6125.

A decorated veteran, she has served as District Commander of the VFW District #6 of the state of Wyoming in the past and was National Delegate for the VFW in 2009.

Annually, Wood spends two days at the Wounded Warrior Event.

Wood has served on various committees in the Valley, including as president of the Platte Valley Arts Council, member of the Saratoga/Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce and served on the Carbon County Economic Development Board.

She has co-written Forest Service grant for murals at the Saratoga Museum and Hat Creek Saddlery and Trading Post.
