Games provide laughter and socialization during the week. On Sunday afternoon, four residents played Bingo with Pat Rust winning. Tuesday morning, five residents played Yahtzee with Elaine Burge winning. Wednesday and Friday afternoons, residents played Bingo. Pat Rust, Kenny Hoagland, Elaine Burge and Barbara Plummer won Four Corners. Nadine Caleb, Barbara Plummer and Pat Rust won Blackout. Our volunteers were Lila Worden, Dawna Erickson, Carly Kessel, Joe Kessel, Elder Palmer and Elder Bingham. On Sunday and Saturday, residents played Wii Bowling. On Saturday afternoon, residents played Blackjack again.
Movies provided entertainment for residents throughout the week and the weekend. In the evening, residents may watch the Turner Classic Movies channel. On Tuesday afternoon, residents had popcorn and watched the movie, “The Man From Snowy River”.
For Lunch out at the Saratoga Senior Center, three residents had meatloaf Monday, and three residents had lasagna Friday.
On Sunday afternoon, Pastor Gene Smith of the Platte Valley Christian Center led our service.
Doris Davis played traditional religious music on the keyboard.
On Monday afternoon, residents attended Resident/Food Council under the able leadership of President Pat Rust, discussing concerns about living at the facility.
On Wednesday morning, six residents had their hair done, and eight residents had their fingernails done by Kathy McMorrow, Georgia Schroer, Merlynn Hoopes and Lynda Healey.
Saturday afternoon, residents enjoyed the Ice Cream Social.
Thanks to the Platte Valley Legacy Committee for the Bingo prizes and soda. We also wish to thank the Ryan Park Fire Department for a donation of soda for Bingo. We also want to thank Bill Baker for the donation of quarters for Bingo. Anyone else wishing to donate Bingo quarters will be greatly appreciated. We are always in need of small stuffed animals as Bingo prizes.
