Jackman named lady-in-waiting

Mychaela Jackman, 14, of Saratoga, has been named the Carbon County Fair Lady-in-Waiting for 2015. A former rodeo competitor, Jackman will be seen at the State Fair as well as the Carbon County Fair and rodeos throughout Carbon County until the next year when a new lady-in-waiting is announced.

To be chosen lady-in-waiting, Jackman had to model, show her horse, Scorch, and give a speech, which was about her horse. "I was really nervous to give my speech, and model and stuff. My legs were shaking really bad," Jackman said.

Aside from her lady-in-

waiting duties, Jackman will show 16 goats, three horses, four pigs and a heifer at the Carbon County Fair. Last year, she won Grand Champion at the fair for her goats. In addition to her activities in 4H, Jackman plays volleyball, basketball and track for Saratoga Middle/High School. This year, she will be a freshman and will compete at the high school level.
