Organizers have a new date for the popular Bullfest: Aug. 22. The Saratoga Lions Club has put on the bull-riders only event for 15 years and for the last two years, Bullfest has been on the first weekend in August.
Unfortunately, that is also fair week for Carbon County and with the Carbon County Roping Event taking place the same night, it has not only taken away spectators, the event has lost their volunteers to the county fair, according to KayCee Alameda. She and her husband, Bo, have been looking for the perfect date for the event since they volunteered to help the Saratoga Lions Club.
Alameda said she wants to see whole families enjoying the event, and when children are participating at fair, that is not possible. So the organizers chose to hold the event after the county and state fair end – to allow as many Carbon County residents to enjoy the show.
“That is the only thing that had changed,” Alameda said. Tickets are $10; children 12 and under getting in for free.
The event takes place at Buck Springs Arena, and tickets are available at the gate.
