Eden Deorio, a former Valley Foods employee charged with stealing more than $30,000 from her employer, has pleaded No Contest to misdemeanor Theft. The state will re-file the charge, originally a felony, in Circuit Court. Because Deorio pled No Contest instead of going to trial, she will be charged with a lesser crime. The sentence includes 180 days of incarceration with a credit of 13 days served pre-sentence and fees, including restitution to Valley Foods. The state recommends that her remaining term of incarceration be suspended in favor of six months unsupervised probation with terms and conditions to be set by the court.
Providing Deorio does not violate any terms and conditions of her bond, the plea offer will stand.
