Range road resurfaced

A resurfacing project similar to that which motorists have been experiencing on WYO 130, north of Saratoga, has begun on Snowy Range Road. The area of the resurfacing project covers 14.3 miles; however, the actual work area is 16 miles because of posted signs, according to Kory Cramer, resident engineer for the Wyoming Department of Transportation. The resurfacing project takes place between mile markers 34 and 48, also described as six miles west of the town of Centennial and continuing west.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes will be subject to an overlay and chip seal, with the parking areas within the project limits re-paved. Delays up to 20 minutes should be expected, considering there will be reduced speeds with flaggers on site during daylight hours. The project is expected to be completed in six weeks.

According to Cramer, these overlays provide a fix to some problems that motorists experience while traveling on the roads, however, it is not the most in-depth solution possible. Cramer said that Wyoming residents can expect more projects like this to come in the future.

The $3.7 million project paid for by state funds is contracted by McGarvin-Moberly out of Worland, Wyo.
