Trivia event with C.J. Box raises funds for Saratoga Museum
Weather may have dampened the attendance, but not the spirits of those who attended the Second annual CJ Box Trivia Event.
Three teams, one of which was formed of people who traveled from Jackson, Wyo., and Scottsbluff, Neb., attended the event sponsored by the Saratoga Museum May 23.
Cash prizes provided by the Carbon County Visitors' Council were donated back to the museum by the winners.
First place went to The Sage Chickens, consisting of Kim and Vince Hytrek, Barb Surber and Bernie and Jose Stradley.
Second place went to the team comprised of people that came alone or with friends, Kathy Starr, Ed Melka, Kate Sherrod, Brad Eakins, Beverly Halm-Levin and Ralph Hicks.
Third place went to the Prairie Dog Electric Team, Kira Harden, Candy France, Jan Cook, Gail Giffin and Alan Youngberg, who were joined by a couple who just came to watch – Kacey Caldwell and Mike Rand.
Barb Youngberg won the bid for a name in one of Box's books.
Head docent Lynda Healey and museum director Virginia Parker asked the questions for "Name that Killer" while Dennis Healey and Barb Youngberg acted as judges. C.J. Box and his wife were on hand to answer questions.
The museum hosted a book signing featuring Box before the trivia event.
The event was sponsored by the Saratoga Museum and the Carbon County Visitors' Council.
