The Final EIS for the Trans-West Express Transmission Project (TWE Project) is available for public review. The EIS was published on the Federal Register on May 1, 2015, initiating a 30-day public availability and protest period associated with the project.
The TransWest Express, LLC is proposing to construct, own, and operate a 730-mile, 600-kilovolt, direct current (DC) transmission line and two terminals. The northern converter station would be located near Sinclair, Wyoming.
According to the press release, the project will provide, “sustainable power for more than one million homes while avoiding 4.5 million metric tons of carbon emissions per year—the equivalent of taking 890,000 cars off the nation’s highways.”
The FEIS is available from the BLM’s project website at: http://www.blm.gov/wy/st/en/info/NEPA/documents/hdd/transwest.html. A physical copy for the FEIS is available at the Rawlins Field Office, 1300 North Third Street, Rawlins, Wyo.
