Two CCSD#2 students awarded UW Trustee scholarship

Luke Pantle, of Encampment K-12 School and Andrew Janecek-Oiler, of Saratoga High School, have been selected to receive the 2015 Trustees' Scholars Award, the University of Wyoming's top academic scholarship.

The two Carbon County School District No.2 (CCSD#2) students are part of 88 high school seniors in Wyoming who were selected for the prestigious scholarship.

The recipients are evaluated on their academic excellence – which include high school grade point average (GPA), ACT/SAT scores and curriculum rigor. This year's applicants had an average of 3.98 GPA and the average ACT score of 33.

"The large number of academically strong Wyoming high school applicants made the selection process incredibly difficult," UW Admissions Director Shelley Dodd said. "The students who received the award represent the excellence of Wyoming high school students across the state."

To retain the scholarship all four years at UW, students must maintain full-time continuous enrollment with a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
