Homecoming off to a mythical start

Encampment K-12 School kicked off homecoming week with a pep assembly on Monday morning to show off the different dress up days to the students.

The classes also watched a video about the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The Penny Wars end today. The the classes compete to raise money for the Wyoming chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The students were told during the assembly that the winning class of the Penny Wars will get to throw pies at three of the faculty.

If the school meets it's goal of $2,501, each student from the winning class will be given a chance to throw a pie at the three brave volunteers, although physical education teacher Matt Shelby was quick to point out, "There may be different rules for the fourth grade."

Presumably there are more fourth grade students than pies in the Platte Valley for Shelby's taste.

Tuesday was Go Greek Day and the halls were full of toga-wrapped Tigers showing off their school spirit. Dalton Peterson as the trident wielding Poseidon, ruled the sea of students before the morning bell and Hunter Hammer appeared to have run afoul of some bloodthirsty Athenians.

The homecoming fun continues this week with Neon Day on Wednesday, Twin Day on Thursday and wrapping up with Red and Black Day on Friday.
