Loader stolen from sawmill

Carbon County Undersheriff Archie Roybal stated that a loader was stolen from the Thompson Logging sawmill in Encampment early New Year’s Day. The incident was reported to police at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 1 after the driver of the loader lost control, damaged a residence and got the piece of equipment stuck in a ditch near 4th Street and McFarlane Avenue.

Roybal said the driver fled the scene on foot and the incident is being investigated by the Carbon County Sheriff’s and the Encampment Police Department.
