Serving the Platte Valley since 1888

Annual chamber dinner scheduled for next week

The Saratoga/Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce will be holding their Annual Meeting and Dinner, at 6 p.m., Jan. 8, at the Platte Valley Community Center. All Chamber members as well as the public are invited to attend.

The highlight of the evening is the announcement of the four annual awards. Winners of the Business of the Year, New Business of the Year, Organization of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year, who have been nominated and voted on by chamber members, will be honored.

To purchase a ticket to the dinner, please call the chamber at 326-8855.

After Dec. 31, tickets will be available but at a higher price. Table sponsorship is also available for those interested.

Old Baldy Club has graciously sponsored drinks for attendees. A lovely dinner, catered by The Bear Trap Café, will be served at 7 p.m. with a short business meeting and program to follow.

A presentation will be made by this year’s guest speaker, Keith Bailey.

Bailey is the retired CEO and board chairman of Williams Companies. Under Bailey’s leadership, William’s workforce expanded, and a telecommunication-focused business was developed. Over the years, Bailey has served on multiple corporate boards and many non-profit boards.

A slate of nominees for the board of directors will be presented during the meeting portion of the evening. Margaret Weber will be seeking an additional three-year term. Melanie Fullman and Virginia Parker are on the slate to be elected to new three-year terms. Proposed changes to the Chamber bylaws will be approved by the membership.

The Lodge and Spa at Brush Creek Ranch is delighted to be participating as a Hometown Hero sponsor of this event, said Stacy Crimmins, the chamber’s executive director. All 26 businesses participating in the Hometown Heroes will also be recognized during the program.

The Chamber Annual Meeting Dinner is an event for the community to come together to celebrate the previous year’s accomplishments and express gratitude for the support of its members.
