Serving the Platte Valley since 1888
We are the Cowboy State for many reasons. This past weekend, four of Carbon County’s cowboys were recognized for their contribution to the state of Wyoming as ranchers.
Wyoming is so cowboy, we have a Cowboy Code of Ethics. Wyoming was the first state to adopt a Code of Ethics in March 2010.
• Live each day with courage
• Take pride in your work
• Always finish what you start
• Do what has to be done
• Be tough, but fair
• When you make a promise, keep it
• Ride for the brand
• Talk less and say more
• Remember that some things aren’t for sale
• Know where to draw the line
It was obvious in the room full of cowboys, that many of these men and women lived by these codes.
They took pride in their work and were proud to be recognized for a job well done.
The cowboy has a long history in Wyoming. We at the Saratoga Sun are pleased to finally see them being recognized.
We certainly have a lot more cowboys in this county that need to be recognized. That is where our readers can come in. No one knows our cowboys and cowgirls better than you do.
Valerie Remick is the local representative for the Cowboy Hall of Fame. Talk to her to find out how you can nominate someone who has made a difference in the Cowboy State.
