Four Carbon County Ranchers will be inducted into the Wyoming Cowboy Hall of Fame Sunday in Douglas.
The official induction ceremonies begin at 1 p.m., Sunday at the Ft. Reno Building at the Wyoming State Fairgrounds in Douglas.
Tim Barkhurst, of Saratoga; the late Frank “Fearless” Carroll, of Encampment; Ronald “Ron” Garretson, of Saratoga; and Cecil “Ray” Weber, of Baggs, are four of the first inductees to be recognized. Thirty-two men will be inducted into the first class of honorees, a press release said. The men were selected from a pool of statewide nominations. “Come prepared to listen to a lot of cowboy tales spun by many who have spent decades proving that Wyoming truly is ‘The Cowboy State’,” the press release from The Wyoming Cowboy Hall of Fame.
The induction is part of the Wyoming Cowboy Hall of Fame’s Central Wyoming Cowboy Weekend, which begins Friday.
Other events include dog trials, an art show, a rodeo and a concert, which features Chauncey Williams and the Younger Brothers Band – Wyatt Springsteen, formerly of Saratoga, performs in the band.
A commemorative posters which was designed by Encampment’s Candy Moulton, an award-winning author and past president of the Western Writer’s of America, will be for sale at the event.
