Terry L. Priquet passed away at his home in Encampment on Aug. 10, 2014 after battling COPD for many years.
Terry was born in Encampment on Sept. 6, 1944 to Julia and Melvin Priquet. He worked with his father, grandfather Oscar, and brothers in the Platte Valley Express in the fourth generation family business. Terry graduated from Encampment and joined the Army.
In 1967, Terry married his wife Mary. As they raised two children, Terry worked in construction, for the Wyoming Dairy, at the mines in Shirley Basin and Hanna, the sawmill in Saratoga, and finally owned and operated T & M service in Encampment from 1986 to 2003. He served on the town council.
Terry and Mary moved back to Encampment in 1971. He loved his town and the valley and knew it was the best place on earth. He never wanted to live anywhere else. Terry loved to fish and see wildlife, camping and spending time with his family.
Terry is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Trina Currier of Linden, VA, son John of Craig, CO., brother Bruce Osborne, Atlanta; brother Gary Osborne, Sheridan, WY, three sisters, Dorothy Severns, Loie Long, and Karen Moore and brothers Jim and Guy Drake who became his when he married; four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Those are the people who always came first in Terry’s life and were his joy.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Julia Priquet, sister Phyllis, brothers Harvey and Tom Drake.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 15 at Mountain View Cemetery. Please bring a chair and join the family for this celebration of Terry’s life.
