"The white man should feel small. With only 150 years in the Valley, the history of Euro-Americans is only part of the story," historian Elva Evans said. Evans, a second generation Platte Valley native, presented a talk on local history of geology and economic use of the Upper North Platte Valley at the Saratoga Museum's "A Celebration of Custom and Culture". Other presenters included blacksmith Ryan Lewis, of Elk Mountain, Rod Laird, of Encampment, Dick Perue, of Saratoga, and Chilly Rollison, of Saratoga.
