A wildfire was reported Monday afternoon on the Medicine Bow National Forest, 30 miles southwest of Laramie.
Dubbed the Owen Fire, the 500-acre fire is burning in timber near Lake Owen in southern Albany County. The cause of the fire is currently unknown and under investigation.
Around 120 personnel are currently assigned to the fire, including several engines, water tenders as well as ground and air resources. Additional ground and air support resources have been ordered.
