A two-car wreck south of Saratoga resulted in the death of a Platte Valley woman.
In a release provided by the Wyoming Highway Patrol, at approximately 6:12 p.m. on July 2, 55 year old Carol Ann Cline of Encampment, Wyo. was traveling south at mile post 21.5 on WY 130, near the US Forest Service building.
A 1978 Ford pickup was being driven by a juvenile male was occupied by 45-year-old Deanne Barrett of Saratoga and a juvenile female. The pickup was stopped on the highway waiting to make a left hand turn to a dirt road.
Cline failed to stop, with a rear-end collision ensuing between the two vehicles.
All four motorists were transported to the Memorial Hospital of Carbon County. While at the hospital, Cline succumbed to her injuries.
The juvenile female in the Ford was the only occupant listed as not wearing a seat belt during the crash. The highway was temporarily closed due to the crash.
Alcohol use by Carol Cline is being investigated as the contributing factor in the crash, with other charges pending at this time.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate the wreck.
