At Deseret Health and Rehab, residents enjoyed many activities throughout the week. The Activity Department offers a wide variety of activities each week to meet the residents’ interests, as well as the physical, mental and psychological well-being of each resident.
With the warm weather of summer, residents are going out on the patio to enjoy it and the flowers. In our pergola, we have a beautiful new wooden bench donated the family of Jeannie James, who was a long-time resident from 2003 to 2013. She enjoyed going out on the patio in the warm weather with other residents to soak up some rays.
Games throughout the week provided fun and laughter. On Sunday afternoon, five residents played Dominoes with Charlotte Gibbons winning. On Monday afternoon, five residents played Yahtzee with Pat Rust winning. On Tuesday morning, four residents played Dominoes. On Wednesday afternoon, 12 residents played Bingo, and Friday afternoon, nine residents played Bingo. Elaine Burge, Dora Martin, Frank Jereb, and Kenny Hoagland won Four Corners. Charlotte Gibbons and Elaine Burge won Blackouts. Our Bingo helpers were Lila Worden,Gloria Rakness, Joni Johnson, Ed Kennaday, Julieanne Lempke, and the Big Brother/Big Sisters kids. They were Haley Miller, Emily Gonzalez, Kayla Smith, Sam Fiedor, Kate Fiedor, Garrett Sperry, Brian Smith, and Jordan Travis.
On Sunday morning, four residents played Wii Bowling, plus four other residents watched the excitement.
On Sunday afternoon, Sharon Hughes stood in for Pastor Arlen Hughes of the Abundant Life Fellowship at our church service. Doris Davis assisted on the keyboard.
For Lunch Out at the Saratoga Senior Center, three residents had spaghetti with meat sauce on Monday and five residents had hot hamburger sandwiches on Friday.
On Tuesday morning, Pastor Arlen Hughes offered Bible Study to four residents.
On Tuesday afternoon, five residents went on a van ride up the Snowy Range Road to Libby Flats, seeing moose, wild turkeys, and antelope.
On Wednesday morning, Lynda Healey, Georgia Schroer, Kathy McMorrow, and Janice Kerpan gave hair care to 11 residents and nail care to 11 residents.
On Thursday afternoon, residents helped decorate our bulletin boards for July.
On Saturday afternoon, residents enjoyed ice cream sandwiches.
