Cow Pie Open tournament raises $2,300

Eighty golfers from across Wyoming participated in the 19th annual Cow Pie Open Golf Classic tournament in Encampment Saturday.

According to event organizer Jim McKinney, the tournament, its 20 sponsors and the fundraiser dinner brought in more than $2,300 for the Encampment FCCLA and ProStart. The tourney took place in a town cow pasture, with buckets set in the ground for holes, and the match was a blind draw.

As of press time, all but one of the winners had donated all or a portion of their winnings back to the beneficiary.

Results from the 2014 Cow Pie Open are listed below:

Top three teams

First place, score of 85- Rod Lutz (Encampment) and Aron Wade (Laramie)

Second place, score of 87- Jimbo Terry (Rawlins) and Jim McKinney (Encampment)

Third place, score of 89- Justin Stephenson (Cheyenne) and Dan Kraft (Encampment)

Low Score, score of 40- Dan Kraft and Jim McKinney
