Krizia Vanessa Verplancke, granddaughter of Sam and Marilyn Verplancke, was conferred the degrees of BA in Sociology and BA in Communication Studies, Summa Cum Laude, at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) in Los Angeles, Calif. May 10.
Krizia is a member of the Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society, Alpha Kappa Delta Honor Society and Order of Omega Honor Society. During her four years at LMU, she served as Resident Advisor, Student Director of Ignatian Leadership, Rains Hall Vice-President, Head Life Guard and Water Safety Instructor.
Her parents, Glen and Paula Verplankce, and brother, Troy, from Wasilla, Alaska, attended the Commencement Mass and Graduation ceremonies along with her grandparents, from Saratoga, and other members of the family.
Krizia has been awarded a full-tuition scholarship at Arizona State University Law School in Tempe, Arizona, to become an attorney. She is spending the summer with her family in Wasilla before moving to Tempe.
Following Krizia’s graduation, the family traveled to Wasilla to attend Troy’s graduation from Wasilla High School. Troy will be attending the University of Wyoming, majoring in business, this fall.
