BLM Rawlins extends RMP comment period

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Rawlins Field Office is extending the comment period on the environmental assessment (EA) for the visual resource management amendment to the 2008 Rawlins Resource Management Plan (RMP) from May 2 to May 16.

During the first comment period for the preliminary EA in late 2013, the Lands with Wilderness Characteristics inventory was not yet available for public consideration. Consequently, when the inventory was published on April 8, the BLM opened a comment period to seek public input on how it affects the amendment EA and its alternatives. The BLM is not seeking comments on the inventory itself.

The Lands with Wilderness Characteristics inventory is available online at http://www.blm.gov/wy/st/en/field_offices/Rawlins/LWCI.html.

Public participation is an essential part of the National Environmental Policy Act process. Written comments may be emailed to [email protected]; faxed to 307-328-4224; or mailed or delivered to the BLM Rawlins Field Office, 1300 N. Third St., P.O. Box 2407, Rawlins WY 82301. Comments outside the relationship of the inventory to the EA will not be considered.

While you may ask us in your comment to withhold from public review your personal identifying information, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.
