Quade Palm, of Medicine Bow, is the recipient of the $1,000 AGCO Dealer/Massey Ferguson scholarship funded by Shively Hardware.
The scholarship, 2013-2014 National FFA Collegiate Scholarship, is awarded to a Carbon County School District No. 2 senior.
Palm is a senior at Hanna-Elk Mountain-Medicine Bow Jr./Sr. High School and a member of the Bow River FFA. He plans to major in Animal Science with a career in ranching.
This year, 126 sponsors have awarded 1,781 individual scholarships with over $2.2 million through the National FFA Organization.
This is the third year that Shively Hardware has participated in the program, Joe Glode, of Shively Hardware, said.
Many of the scholarship recipients are in the top 16 percent of their class and have a grade point average of 3.74, according the collegiate scholarship program fact sheet provided by the National FFA Foundation.
The 2015 scholarship application will be available Nov. 15, 2014. The application must be submitted online at http://www.ffa.org no later than 5 p.m. EST on Feb. 1, 2015.
