At Deseret Health and Rehab, residents enjoyed many activities throughout the week. The Activity Department offers a wide variety of activities each week to meet the residents’ interests, as well as the physical, mental and psychological well-being of each resident.
The resident and staff want to welcome our new Activity Assistant, Kathy McMorrow. Her friendly smile and assistance is greatly appreciated. When you are next in the facility, come say hello to this great new addition to the Activities program.
Games throughout the week provided fun and laughter. On Sunday afternoon, five residents played Dominoes with Pat Rust winning. On Monday afternoon, five resident played Yahtzee with Pat Rust winning. On Tuesday morning, seven residents played Dominoes again with Charlotte Gibbons winning. On Wednesday afternoon, 10 residents played Bingo, and Friday afternoon, 11 residents played Bingo. Frank Jereb, Truth Karstoft, Pat Rust, Carol Higby, and Kenny Hoagland won Four Corners. Dora Martin, Elaine Burge, and Marion Lansdown won Blackouts. Our Bingo helpers were Lila Worden, Joy Hamilton, Dawna Erickson, Joannie Johnson, Elder Ramirez, Elder Hallam, Loretta Loose, Nancy Facciani, and Gloria Rakness, with Gloria Rakness calling on Wednesday. On Saturday afternoon, residents played Blackjack.
During the evenings throughout the week, residents watched the Turner Classic Movie channel with its commercial-free movies. On Sunday morning, five residents watched the VCR movie, “Rio Lobo”. On Tuesday afternoon, five residents watched the VCR movie, “Red River”. On Saturday morning, residents watched the VCR movie, “Call Me Bwana”.
For Lunch Out at the Saratoga Senior Center on Monday, three residents had baked ham, and Friday three residents had Swedish meatballs.
On Sunday afternoon, Reverend Mickey Laws of the Encampment Presbyterian Church led our church service, offering Communion. Doris Davis assisted on the keyboard.
On Wednesday morning, Lynda Healy, Pat Stemke, Georgia Schroer, and Merlynn Hoopes gave Hair Care to nine ladies and Nail Care to seven residents.
On Thursday afternoon, five residents went on a van ride around Saratoga.
On Saturday afternoon, residents enjoyed ice cream sandwiches.
