A Saratoga resident was involved in a fatal traffic wreck on April 1.
Twenty-four year old Shane F. Grove, originally from Dubois, Wyo., died after he was thrown from his vehicle near Encampment. According a release from the Wyoming State Patrol (WSP), Julie A. Davis, of Saratoga, was making a left hand turn onto County Road 201 from Wyoming Highway 230 when Grove came up behind her at a very high rate of speed. Grove hit the rear of Davis’s vehicle as he was trying to pass. Grove’s vehicle continued down the road, lost the passenger side front tire and slid off the road.
Grove’s vehicle rolled several times down the roadway as Grove was ejected from his car. He was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the wreck.
The WSP are still investigating the crash to see if alcohol was a contributing factor.
