Marcella Aden Jewell

Marcella Aden Jewell, 87, of Denver, passed away on March 14, 2014.

Marcella was born in Rawlins on Sept. 27, 1926, to Lloyd and Mary Aden, of Saratoga.

She grew up on the family ranch outside of Saratoga, but spent much of her time with her grandmother, Anna Paulson, in Saratoga.

She graduated from Saratoga High School in 1944 and continued her education at Stephens College in Columbia, Mo.

In 1945, she moved to Denver where she was employed by Western Airlines at the Reservation Desk in the Brown Palace Hotel, and later as a supervisor for the Colorado Real Estate Commission. While in Denver, she met her future husband of 53 years, Bud Jewell.

She had an amazing sense of humor, a fun personality and was extraordinarily kind. She loved traveling with her friends and family. All will remember her as an amazing cook and supporter of the fine arts. Marcella was a 50-year member of the Saratoga Chapter #12, Order of the Eastern Star. Marcella will always be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, friend and confidant.

Marcella is survived by her son, Hank and his wife Nora Jewell, of Saratoga, Wyoming; her daughter, Linda Valente, of Denver; her granddaughters, Jaida and her husband Alessandro Paolini, of Boston, Mass. and Gia Valente, of Denver. She is also survived by two sisters; Marian Berger, of Saratoga and Jane Bramall, of Huntsville, Ala., two sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert "Bud" Jewell; her parents, Lloyd and Mary Aden.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date in Saratoga.
