Water flow gets back to normal

After last week’s water pump mishap, water flow is back to normal in Saratoga.

Saratoga town engineer Chuck Bartlett said that four out of the five wells are back up and running. There is now enough water being pumped to sustain a constant level of water.

“We’re out of the crunch now,” Bartlett said.

Bartlett said that they were still waiting for parts for the Variable Frequency Drives for the fifth well. The parts should be here by next week.

Because of lower water usage in February, the town could survive longer without the pumps working. If the same incident happened during high water usage months, the results could have been catastrophic.

“It’s pretty spooky to think about,” Bartlett said.

Bartlett added that they are taking preventative measures to insure that the pumps do not go out again.
