Wine tasters take note

Wine connoisseurs and tasting enthusiasts can get their lips on an array of fine wines this week at the Platte Valley Community Center.

The Saratoga Museum is hosting the “Sipping for History” Wine Tasting Fundraiser, scheduled to take place Friday at the PVCC. Museum Board Member George Haigh said he looks forward to educating the community about different wines from around the world, in addition to different wine aromas, flavors, grape balances and tasting descriptors.

“Participants will have the opportunity to taste a dozen different wines, and record their opinions using some recommended wine tasting expertise provided in person by our friends at Southern Wine and Spirits in Casper,” he said.

Haigh said snacks will also be provided to complement the wines presented.

“The event will include light snacks and appetizers that pair up nicely with different wines, and we would like to thank our local business’s and restaurant table sponsors for their donations,” he said. “Please join us in support of the Saratoga Museum by attending our ‘Sipping for History’ wine tasting event.”

Sipping for History takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the PVCC’s Great Hall. For Saratoga Museum members who pay by Wednesday, the entry fee is $15 per person and $25 per couple. The charge is $17 per person or $30 per couple for members at the door.

For non-members, the charge is $20 per person or $35 per couple if paid by Wednesday. At the door, the charge for non-members is $25 per person or $40 per couple.
