Panthers, Tigers split wins

Two Platte Valley middle school girls' basketball teams scored one win each in Friday's rival face-off at Saratoga.

Encampment's A Team beat Saratoga's A Team, 39-23, while Saratoga's B Team beat Encampment's B Team, 36-12. Encampment coach Kegan Willford said he saw his girls work well together on the court.

"The biggest strength thus far in the early season is that these girls are unselfish and play really well together as a team," he said. "They work hard each and every day and are improving each week. These girls are young and continue to work hard each week. As the season has progressed these girls are gaining more confidence."

The middle school Lady Tigers play Desert School at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Wamsutter. The middle school Lady Panthers play a home game against Rawlins at 4 p.m. Friday.
