Emergency planning for schools coming to PVCC

Wyoming Homeland Security has organized a local two-day emergency training program for schools to be hosted by Carbon County Emergency Management.

The free course at the Platte Valley Community Center will provide schools with the knowledge, skills and tools needed to refine or develop an all-hazards school emergency operations plan (EOP), and to identify how to train and exercise the plan. The course explains how to utilize the National Incident Management System (NIMS) as the foundation for planning and building partnerships with outside agencies such as law enforcement, fire and emergency management.

The target audience for this course is school administrators, staff, locally emergency managers and first responders who are interested in comprehensive emergency planning for grades K-12.

There are no prerequisites for this course, and for more information please contact Russell Clark at 307-358-1920 or [email protected]. The course takes place from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on both Feb. 6 and 7, and is held at the PVCC, 210 W. Elm St. in Saratoga.
