At Deseret Health and Rehab, residents enjoyed many activities throughout the week. Each night during the week, residents watched Turner Classic Movies in the evening.
Games throughout the week provided fun and laughter. On Sunday afternoon, four residents played Dominoes with Dora Martin winning. On Monday afternoon, three residents played Yahtzee with Dora Martin winning. On Wednesday morning, four residents elected to play Yahtzee. On Wednesday afternoon, eight residents played Bingo, and on Friday afternoon, 10 residents played Bingo. Janet Kennaday, Richard Abington, and Sam Kelly won Four Corners. Nadine Caleb, Sam Kelly and Charlotte Gibbons won Blackouts. Our Bingo helpers were Betty Dean, Lila Worden, Elder Alameda, Elder Zivala and Gloria Rakness. On Saturday afternoon, residents played Blackjack.
On Sunday afternoon, Ken Kreusel, of the Encampment Presbyterian Church, led our church service. Becky Kreusel, Ken’s wife, played Christmas carols on her keyboard.
On Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings, residents listened to the news and the current book that is being read, Mary Higgins Clark’s “Two Little Girls in Blue”.
On Tuesday morning, Janice Kerpan gave three ladies beautiful hairdos in Hair Care, and Brenda Zeiger did their nails.
On Tuesday before supper, 15 residents had a happy hour to celebrate New Year’s Eve. They had a beer, a wine cooler or some Coca-Cola.
On Wednesday morning, New Year’s Day, residents watched the Tournament of Roses Parade on television.
On Thursday afternoon, residents helped take down our Christmas tree in the dining room.
On Saturday afternoon, residents enjoyed ice cream sandwiches.
