Chamber seeks nominations

The Saratoga/Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for their annual awards: Business of the Year, New Business of the Year, Organization of the Year, and the Volunteer of the Year. Deadline to nominate is Nov. 22 and any Chamber member may nominate using the form provided in The Bridge Street Journal newsletter this month. Every Saratoga/Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce Business Member has one vote and can nominate any fellow member for the awards. Nominations can be faxed, emailed or phoned to the Chamber office, 307-326-8855 or fax it to 307-326-8850. If you need a form, please let the Chamber know and they will provide one to you. You may also nominate online by visiting surveymonkey.com/s/VC6S25J.

After nominations are received, the Chamber staff will verify eligibility. The Chamber Board of Directors does not choose the winner. Instead, the Chamber membership votes using the ballot included in the December newsletter. The award recipients will be announced at the chamber Annual Meeting and Dinner, which will be held on Jan. 9 at the Platte Valley Community Center.

Business of the Year nominees must have been a Chamber member for at least two years and have been in business at least four years. They should participate in Chamber events by attending, volunteering time and donating goods or cash. They should also contribute to the community and promote and represent the Platte Valley area in a favorable way. The business cannot be a past recipient.

New Business of the Year nominees must have been a Chamber member for at least nine months and have been in business at least one year up to three years. They should participate in Chamber events by attending, volunteering time, and donating goods or cash. They should also contribute positively to the community and promote and represent the Platte Valley area in a favorable way. The business cannot be a past recipient.

Organization of the Year nominees should show outstanding volunteerism for the community, other organizations and/or individuals. They should promote community spirit and service in the Platte Valley and represent the Platte Valley in a favorable way. Nominees should inform the community of its services and events and contribute positively to the community. The organization must be a not-for-profit organization.

Volunteer of the Year is given to an outstanding volunteer in the community. This award is also called the Pam Lebeda Award, named for long-time Chamber assistant. This person should show outstanding volunteerism for the community, other organizations and/or individuals. They should promote community spirit and service and represent the Platte Valley area in a favorable way. Nominees should contribute positively to the community.

The Chamber encourages its members to participate in the nomination and award process.
