Lady golfers end club

Ending the season on a positive note, members of the Saratoga Ladies Golf Association (SLGA) enjoyed their last formal golf play and honorary banquet last Thursday.

Players met at 9:30 a.m. Thursday to first play Closest to the Pin. Winners were Joy Hamilton for the First Flight and Nancy Facciani of the Championship Flight for Hole No. 4. Joni Johnson won for the Championship Flight, and Joy Hamilton won for the First Flight for Hole #8.

The final golf banquet was took place that evening at the Saratoga Resort & Spa. President Dawna Erickson led the festivities, and treasurer Joy Hamilton handed out the prizes.

Awards and recipients:

Club Champion and Lowest Score on the Ringer Board- Dawna Erickson

Most Improved Golfer- Mariel O’Grady, 29 strokes

Lowest Putts for the Year- Marty Perue, 10 putts

Perfect Attendance- Joy Hamilton, 17 games

Low Putts for May- Dawna Erickson

Low Putts for June- Marty Perue

Low Putts for July- Dawna Erickson

Low Putts for August- Marti and Lila Worden

Low Putts for September- Lila Worden

Miss Congeniality Award- Valerie Larscheid

Championship Flight Award- Lila Worden and Nancy Facciani

Although the team will no long meet as a club, the members will still golf together Thursdays next year, meeting at 9:30 a.m., in May, September and October. For June, July and August, members will meet at 9 a.m., weather permitting. Play will be just for fun.
