Obituary: Lorraine Dorothy Kelley

Lorraine Dorothy Kelley, of Encampment, passed away on Aug. 23, 2013 at Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie. The world lost a beautiful sprit in Lorraine, after a long-fought battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by her family when she was called home to her Heavenly Father.

Lorraine was born in December, 1937, in Denver to Joseph Isaac and Maria Elsie Abeyta. She spent her childhood living in Denver with her parents, three brothers, Joseph, Leo and Arthur Abeyta and two sisters, Isabel Briner and Irene Ellis.

She met her husband of 54 years, Robert C. Kelley, in Denver. They were married June 6, 1959.

Lorraine and Bob had three children, Robert J. Kelley (Teresa), of Carpenter, Wyo.; Charles A. Kelley (Lucy), of El Dorado, Kansas, and Katherine A. (Bill) Leininger, of Augusta, Kansas.

Lorraine was a grandmother to seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Logan, Ken, Seth, Charlene, Kalyn and Shannon. She was a great grandmother to Marlie.

She loved and spoiled her beloved dog Roxie.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Cremation has taken place. On Aug. 29, there will be a rosary at 9:45 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 10 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, in Saratoga. A reception will follow the service at St. Ann’s Parish Hall.
