Meet Joe Pickett

Above, Dick Weber, of Coupeville, Wash., was in Riverside visiting his daughter Margaret Weber, owner of the Bear Trap. He made a stop to the C.J. Box book signing at the Saratoga Museum Saturday. Weber, who has been carving caricatures for 40 years, said his daughter convinced him to carve Joe Pickett, the main character in Box’s book series. Box kept the wood sculpture on his table during the book signing. Box said his stand-alone book, “The Highway,” is in its fifth printing since Aug. 1. The Saratoga Museum sold out of the book on Saturday.
