55 Alive on Aug. 21

There were six here to play bingo Tuesday. Two-dollar winners were Pat Faust, Madaline Forbes, Dorothy Miller, Jack Riddick, and Ginny Riddick. Berneil McCord won a $3 round. Pat Faust won the $5 blackout round.

There were three-and-a-half tables for Duplicate Bridge this week. High winners were Marianna Blue and Gertrude Herold. There was a tie for second high between Mary Alice Sjoden and Sandy Cameron and Pat Bailey and Mariel O’Grady.

Don’t for get we will be having the music jamboree up here every other Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. It has been so enjoyable and we keep getting more entertainers and the audience keeps growing every time. So mark your calendar and come join us. The next one will be Aug. 27.

I do have the forms for the Elderly and Disabled Tax Program. The qualifications for this are: You must be at least 65 years old, or have turned 18 in 2012 and are totally disabled, lived in the state of Wyoming for the year 2012, and had income of $17,500 or less for a single person, or $28,500 or less for a married couple. So if you have these qualifications, please stop in and get a form or call ahead and I will be happy to help you fill them out. You need to have them postmarked no latter than Aug. 31.

I have several seniors who cannot go live at their homes unless they have someone to come and stay with them. If you would be interested in doing that please call the center and I will get you in touch with them.

We had eight people stay to play Right Left and Center on Wednesday. It was fun. Hopefully we will have more stay this week. We will be playing every Wednesday after lunch. All you need to bring is three quarters for each game.

We will be having a 55 Alive driving class here on Aug. 21. It will be a one-day class, so it will probably be starting at 9 a.m., but I will have to check on the time.

We will be serving lunch so if you would like to stay and have lunch please let us know so we can make enough. Call and get your name on the list to take the class.

George, who is teaching the 55 Alive class, would like to know in advance how many to plan on having so he will bring enough books. You should take the class every two years and it will help on your insurance.

Also on Aug. 21, we will have a medication management program at 1 p.m. You can have a free consultation with a pharmacist to check your medications and evaluate solutions to reduce your expense. This program is sponsored by Senior Patient Advocates out of Casper.

They are doing these programs at some of the centers here in Carbon County. Call so I can get your name on our list to talk with the pharmacist.

This has been the second week that I have been blocking off one of the tables, and the ones that set at that table have had to set at another table. So far it has worked out very well and I do think they have enjoyed the move.
