CCEDC forms housing needs committee

The Carbon County Economic Corporation board (CCEDC) has formed a committee to address housing needs in Carbon County.

The board will hold two meetings Aug. 22, one in Rawlins and one in Saratoga. The Rawlins meeting will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Bureau of Land Management conference room, 1300 Third St., Rawlins. The Saratoga meeting will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Saratoga Town Hall.

“We are just trying to gather information and see what can be done to address housing needs,” said Cindy Wallace, CCEDC Executive director.

Realtors, contractors, developers, lenders, public municipalities, planning and zoning boards and motel managers are encouraged to attend. Speakers will include representatives from USDA Rural Development, Wyoming Community Development Aliance and the Wyoming Housing Network.

Participants will also be encouraged to participate in roundtable discussions to talk about housing needs, regulations or hindrances to housing developments and other subjects related to housing in Carbon County.

Wallace said space is limited.

CCEDC will send out invitations to certain parties revealing more details. Visit http://www.ccwyed.net or call Wallace at 307-434-3836 for more information.
