Camp presents ranch-style worship

Families and individuals of all ages looking for a religious experience can join in at the 68th annual Wyoming Ranchers Family Camp held in Encampment this year.

The camp is a four-day interdenominational excursion, from July 11-14, where participants can worship and learn more about God and Jesus Christ. Speakers, bible study leaders and youth group leaders include Darin and Merna Boone of the Country Christian Center in Pasco, Wash., Wayne and Linda Mundell of the Monument Bible Church in Scottsbluff, Neb. and Darius Becker of the Child Evangelism Fellowship of Cheyenne. Texas-based singer-songwriter Royce Smithey, who plays guitar, bass and mandolin, will serve as the music leader for the camp.

Activities include separate adult and youth Bible study times, a worship service, talent and music sharing time and evening campfire services with sing-alongs. Dinners will feature chuckwagon-style meals.

There is no charge and no registration, and the camp costs are financed by a free-will offering. Boxes are in various places on the grounds for gifts, and people are welcome to come for even part of a day if unable to attend the full weekend.

A Forest Service fee is required to camp on the grounds in a tent or camper. Area motels are also available.

For more information call 307-326-8293 or 307-321-1645.

The campsite for Wyoming Ranchers Family Camp is located at Bottle Creek Campground, just seven miles southwest of Encampment on paved Highway 70. Turn left on the Hog Park Road and go about 80 yards, and the entrance is on the right hand side. There will be signs marking the way in Encampment as well as at the turn site.

The overnight camp begins with supper at 6 p.m. on July 11 and lasts until Sunday evening, July 14.
