It took the Saratoga Volunteer Fire Department only 12 minutes to respond to a fire at the sawmill that set in on Father’s Day morning June 16.
“They were on it within 12 minutes, which is not bad for a volunteer fire department,” said Russell Wilson, who called in the fire that morning.
“I got off the night shift (at Sinclair) and I was on my way home and I saw smoke headed to the north. At first I didn’t think much of it until I got closer and saw a glow in the sky. As soon as I got by my house, I saw it.”
Wilson saw a large blaze consuming a structure at the Saratoga sawmill.
