Serving the Platte Valley since 1888
Several Platte Valley residents enjoyed the Saratoga Museum’s Trivia Night Friday evening.
“The Trivia Night was a big success,” said Saratoga Museum Board member George Haigh who asked questions at the event Friday. “I had a lot of fun doing it.”
Thirty-six people showed up to the event held in the Saratoga Senior Center, and split up into seven teams, the Yammerers, We Love Saratoga, The Winners, Die Hards, The Cheaters, The Platte Valley Liars and The Nads.
The seven teams went toe-to-toe in a 29-question bout for who knew Saratoga, the Platte Valley and Wyoming better.
Haigh asked the questions in three 10-question rounds, each round beginning with easy questions which progressively got harder.
All participants answered the questioned while enjoying a chili dinner and other light snacks.
The Nads came in first place with 190 points. The Platte Valley Liars came in second with 185 points and the Cheaters came in third with 160 points.
The first-place prize was a $100 gift certificate to Valley Foods. The second-place prize was a $40 gift certificate to the Country Store. The third-place prize was a free one-year subscription to the Saratoga Sun. The Cheaters donated their prize to the Saratoga Senior Center.
The evening also consisted of a marble guessing game, where participants guessed how many marbles were in jars, and a raffle. The raffle prize was a free pass to several key events the Saratoga Museum hosts, among other prizes.
Carolyn Terry, of the We Love Saratoga team, won the small-jar marble count and the raffle.
Melody Huntley won the large jar of marbles. The proceeds of the event went toward future exhibits at the Saratoga Museum.
