Carbon County Library celebrates National Library Week: Help celebrate National Library Week from April 14-20 by visiting your local library

Teens, ages 11-18, have an opportunity to win an Amazon gift card by using a camera and their creative side. They will stack books and use the spine labels to create their own poem. With this experiment, known as “bookspine poetry,” students get to have fun making interesting poems from random book titles. The books are stacked on top of one another, and the created poems are read from the book spines top to bottom.

Submit your photo to the teen Facebook page (facebook.com/CCLSTeens). All photos must be submitted by midnight on April 20. Vote on your favorite poem by visiting carbonlibraries.org between April 22-25. All participants receive a free book.

Adults can visit their local library during regular hours to pick up a short book review form. They should return the completed book review to the library by Saturday, April 20 and will be entered into a drawing for an Amazon gift card. Adults can write a reviewing report on any book they choose.
