Riverside talks transmission project

The Riverside Town Council discussed the Zephyr Power Transmission Project and its open house on Wednesday.

The project, proposed by Duke-American Transmission Company, is designed to connect high-quality renewable wind energy resources in Wyoming to communities in the southwestern United States. The approximately 850-mile transmission line would run from the planned Pathfinder Wind Development, near Chugwater, Wyo., to the Eldorado Valley, just south of Las Vegas.

The project includes at least one preliminary route in Wyoming.

The council discussed the possibility of selling the old 1977 firetruck owned by the town of Riverside. No action was taken.
