Wilma Kurtz passed away after a short illness on Feb. 11, 2013 at the age of 99.
Wilma was in Tomball, Texas at the time of her death.
She was born on July 14, 1913 in Redfield, S.D. to Burness A. and Lola Mae (Tharpe) Blake.
Wilma spent her summers in Encampment.
Wilma graduated from Midwest. She married Dale M. Burgess in 1931 in Midwest.
She married George Kurtz in Nebraska in May 1963.
Wilma is survived by her sister, Nadine Wick, of Laramie, sons, Wilbur (Gaye) Burgess, of Encampment and Dobbin, Texas; Orville (Ellen) Burgess, of Encampment and Quartzsite, Ariz.; stepson Tom Kurtz, of Pheonix; stepdaughter Phyliss Sheldon, of Scottsdale; 15 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 36 great great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wima was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, daughter Dellia Chaffin, son Delbert (Bud) Burgess, stepsons George and David Kurtz; three grandsons; one great-grandson; three brothers and two sisters.
Memorial contributions may be given to a church or charity of choice in Wima’s name.
