BOCES members appointed

The Carbon County School District 2 (CCSD 2) Board of Trustees appointed four of its board members to the new Board of Cooperative Education Services (BOCES) Wednesday at its monthly meeting.

Tanya Bartholomew, Diane Berger, Joe Gaspari and Bob Patton will serve on the BOCES board.

Thursday, Bob Gates said Western Wyoming Community College (WWCC) will appoint a board member. Once the BOCES is formed, Gates said the school will be able to teach concurrent classes to the CCSD 2 students.

Concurrent classes would allow teachers, once approved by WWCC, to teach college classes to students while also teaching them high school classes.

Eventually, Gates said, adult education will be expanded under the new BOCES.

The CCSD 2 board accepted resignation/retirement letters from Pam Kraft, Encampment School Art Teacher, and Linda Kraft, Encampment kindergarten teacher.

The board also approved the 2013-2014 calendars for all of the schools and approved the HEM Jr./Sr. High School Archery Program.

Principal and Central Office Administrative Contracts were approved for Mike Erickson, Dave Rangitch, Mark Shipp, Dale Kari, Larry Uhling, Larry Hepner and Sally Wells.

The next board meeting for CCSD 2 is at 4 p.m., March 18 at the Saratoga Elementary School.
