Brush Creek Presents will be featuring seven artists Friday night at the Platte Valley Community Center.
The program is a free and informal monthly outreach program which features visual presentations, readings and music by current artists-in-residence at Brush Creek Ranch.
Friday, the presenters are four visual artists, two writers, one composer and the current director of the Brush Creek artists-in-residence program, Katie Christensen, who is also a visual artist.
Stacey Steers, of Boulder, Colo., will present her hand-drawn animations, Kathleen Scott Moore is presenting paper-cut installations. Moore is from Tempe, Ariz.
Tammie Lane, of Aspen, Colo., is a landscape watercolorist. Selections of land art by German artist, Sonja Hinrichsen, will be presented Friday night too.
Readings from middle-grade author Kiera Steward, whose upcoming book, “How to Break a Heart”, will be finished during her stay at Brush Creek.
Alabama author Brooke Bullman will read short stories Friday night and composer David Vayo will present musical work that is composed for traditional Chinese instruments.
On Saturday and Sunday, Hinrichsen will be creating a giant snow drawing at Brush Creek Ranch and invites the public to strap on their snowshoes and participate in creating an art piece.
Both days, the activity will start at 11 a.m. at the Brush Creek Ranch Welcome Center. Participants should register for the event by calling 307-710-7312 or emailing [email protected].
Participants are required to bring their own snowshoes, snacks, sunscreen and water. Some snowshoes will be available at Brush Creek, but must be reserved when registering for the event.
