Jane Woodward

Jane Woodward, age 80, of Rowlett, Texas, passed away Jan. 24, 2013. She was born Feb. 5, 1932, in Brownsville, Texas, to William A. and Lily Belle (Spivey) Rasco.

Jane was baptized in First Christian Church and later attended the Presbyterian Church. She received her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&I at Kingsville and her master’s from the University of Portland in Oregon.

After many years of public service in the public school system, Jane retired from Flour Bluff ISD of Texas in 1995. She touched so many lives and will be dearly missed.

During her retirement, Jane volunteered as a campground hostess for the U.S. Forest Service.

Jane is survived by her children: Wayne Woodward and wife Julie, of Frisco, Texas; Pamela Vallejo and husband Gabriel, of Rowlett, Texas; William Woodward and wife Teresa, of Sachse, Texas; sister: Barbara Ann Dwyer, of California; grandchildren: Ranee-Jo, Ryan and wife Jenna, Monica Jane, Marissa, David, Meagan, Ben, Andrew and Toby; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Sophie Lee Rasmussen, Bill Rasco and Warren Ellis.

Funeral services were held Jan. 28 at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rowlett Chapel with Pastor David Klippert-Rowe officiating.
