Pity the cows

Brrr, who forgot to turn up the heat? Thankfully, we are inside most of the day. But, don’t you feel for those cows in the meadow? Someone should build a fire for them to warm their roasts.

We have had a good week getting to know Ronda. She has been working on learning folks’ names. It will all come and I won’t even be missed by the middle of February. That’s a good thing!

Don’t forget the evening meal this week on Friday at 6 p.m. Call Thursday for reservations and we will enjoy seeing you then. Sorry, I can’t tell you what the entertainment is. Madeline hasn’t informed me at this time. But, if all else fails, there will probably be dominos. Those domino kids are consistent!

The bridge table was out with Sheila, Rosemary, Kay, and Evelyn slapping the cards. They have suggested that I learn how to play, but I still think being the “dummy” is about all I could get without much time and study.

Coffee is one way to warm up in this weather. Ellie, Arleigh, LeDawn, Patty, Connie, Laura, and a visit from Martha Braga made the chatter and slurping an every morning event.

That western puzzle is coming along. It is a little different. The border is the slow part. So, the folks are putting the center together first and then they will have to tackle the edge. It’s a pretty neat puzzle.

Helen was here to do the blood pressures on Thursday. She gave a squeeze to the arms of 12 folks then stayed for lunch. Thanks, Helen!

Lila’s quilt is making progress. Well, the quilt isn’t doing anything it’s the quilters. The quilters are still working on the blocks for the 2013 raffle quilt. It will be a surprise to all of us.

There were a couple days that folks were missing which meant the dominos stayed in the boxes instead of clattering all over the table. We miss those guys when they can’t stay and make noise.

Oh ya, I about forgot, we had a make-up meal on Jan. 12. We had a low count, but those who were here enjoyed a good meal (if I do say so myself) and much visiting. Plan to join us next month.

Until next week, stay warm and warm someone else with a friendly smile.
